Our Story
Meet Meti "Matt" Elezi — the voice that greets you at the door, knows your name, and remembers how you like your coffee. Matt, his wife Timka, and their family came to the United States from Kicevo, North Macedonia in 2010 to chase an American dream, and they've been cooking toward it ever since.
What began with the Flora Diner and grew through The Golden Pancake House in Centralia arrived in Mount Vernon on June 4, 2025 — a completely redesigned, warm, light-filled room off the interstate. Matt's brother, Viny, runs the Diamond Diner in Evansville, IN. Hospitality, it seems, runs in the family.
House specials, skillets, French toast, waffles, crêpes and omelets — cooked fresh, every morning, never rushed.
He greets almost every customer by name. No strangers cross our threshold — only friends we haven't met yet.

Our menu runs long, so it starts here. Three dishes that come up more than everything else on it combined.
Crisp golden curds under a blanket of warm cheese sauce, with fries alongside. Best in the house — and the thing guests order twice.

What an amazing place — spectacular food. The ribeye and eggs were absolutely wonderful. The waiters and waitresses are so kind and always check in.

For a small building they hold a lot of hungry people. Servers are very friendly — smiles are free. The menu is extensive (not a Waffle House).
